Calvin Brown Wright was born in Rochester, New York USA or Caistor, Ontario Canada on September 18, 1859. Death certificate says Caistor - family bible says Rochester. Calvin's parents were thought to be killed when Calvin was an infant felling a tree in Caistorville, Ontario. What happened to his father or mother (first name thought to be Cynthia) or if he had brothers or sisters is not known. Possibly all of the family were killed except Calvin.

Calvin was taken in (adopted) by Mary Bowman (Grandma Jackson) as an infant and latter was either living with or married to a "Wright." Calvin's surname was changed to "Wright" at this time. What happened to this "Wright" fellow is not known.
Bowman Cemetery in Ancaster, Ontario has a wealth of information and a family connection. Possibly the "Wright" fellow was a family member of Wright's buried there.
After adopting Calvin, (and Calvin acquiring the Wright name) Mary Bowman married Thomas Jackson (Scottish) (widowed and 2 boys) then having their own children and also adopting another child "Arthur Lockhart" a young boy. In all of the old family photos the Wrights and Jacksons are always pictured together. The family moved to Brantford for some reason and Thomas and Mary are buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Jackson or Bowman relatives were living near Brockway, Michigan USA where Calvin's wife Emily was born. Her parents were Milo Clark and Mary Jane. (they were farmers) It is thought that Milo and Mary were of Welsh decent, however both were born in the state of New York USA. Calvin met Emily during his visit with relations they fell in love and were married in Yale, Michigan. Their first child being born in Yale, Michigan. (Yale being a few miles to the north of Brockway)
Calvin began first as a photographer (possibly this is how Rochester ended up as his place of birth) Then acquiring the skill needed for trade in the Awning and Tarpaulin business and moved to various communities in Michigan and Ohio. He spent several years in Tiffin, Ohio possibly here he learned the awning and tarpaulin trade. Finally, he and his family moved back to Brantford after Thomas Jackson's death where his business was established. They were quite well off first living on Park Avenue employing a maid and converting a large home on Marlbough Street into 3 apartments in which they also lived.
Calvin and Emily's son Grover founded Wright Motor Transport in Brantford in 1926 and son Stanley, Stan Wright Mover. Wright Motor Transport being passed down to sons Jack and Vincent and Stan Wright Mover to son Douglas. (Stan Wright Cartage and Leasing)
Calvin was killed in an accident by a car in Brantford while riding his bicycle on Park Avenue. Emily remained in the family home until her death with son Stanley purchasing the lot beside and building his home. Calvin and Emily are buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
